Program Director and/or Designee General Summary Domestic Violence (DV) Family Case Specialist is responsible for providing case management services to families enrolled in the subsidized childcare program and who are victims of domestic violence.
DV Family Case Specialists will perform their duties in compliance with their funding source contracts and guidelines.
This is an onsite position with no remote work.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Ensure that all assigned cases are maintained up to date and are re-certified in compliance with contract Funding Terms & Conditions and agency policies and procedures.
Perform case maintenance such as initial enrollments, re-certifications, provider changes, and other job-related duties.
Maintain accurate caseload.
Maintain an ongoing appointment book to ensure that the appointment is given sufficient time to complete the purpose of the visit by the participant.
Obtain, read, and understand program Funding Terms & Conditions, program philosophy, the personnel handbook, parent and provider handbooks and any other job-related material covering all aspects of the program.
Must have the ability to follow up on all cases to ensure that all contract information is accurate.
Assist with provider and parent concerns to resolve issues affecting the program and uses strict identifying guidelines to maintain the confidentiality of domestic violence client.
Print and mail out all assigned caseload attendance logs to the childcare provider in a timely manner.
Recruit families in need of care.
Attends domestic violence training annually.
Performs outreach and attends community events to meet program needs.
Enroll families in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations, as directed by Program Supervisor/Manager/Director.
Ability to process, bill, and reconcile family fee payments and accounts in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations.
Adhere to organization and program policies, standards, and procedures.
Safeguards confidentiality of information and records.
Regular attendance based on program needs and requirements.
Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, and/or changed at the discretion of the program.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent; AA degree or higher preferred.
Experience working with parents receiving subsidized child care and/or CalWORKs for a minimum of (3) years cumulative or certified in DV services preferred.
Bi-lingual Spanish/ English required.
Ability to perform complex program requirements.
Ability to work Monday through Friday, regularly scheduled hours and on weekends if needed.
Strong organizational, analytic, and administrative skills.
Proficient in reading, writing, math, and understanding of work-related material.
Strong written and oral communication skills required.
Excellent customer service and problem resolution skills.
Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet.
Experience handling sensitive and confidential matters.
Experience working with childcare providers and CalWORKs participants receiving subsidized childcare assistance preferred.
Working knowledge of existing Los Angeles County welfare system preferred.
Sincere commitment to provide quality service to the public.
Sensitivity and ability to work well with diverse social, ethnic, religious, and cultural groups.
Must be able to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Must be in good physical and mental condition.
Must pass the T.

test, drug screening and physical examination.
Successful background and criminal clearance required and maintained, but not limited to California Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Child Abuse Index, or as required by the program.
Must always possess Live Scan clearance during employment.
Revoked fingerprint clearance will lead to immediate termination of employment.
Must possess own vehicle, a valid California Driver's License and appropriate automobile insurance at all times.
Ability to drive and travel, as required.
Ability to maintain cooperative, diplomatic working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the public; work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues; and complete projects under the tight deadlines even when there are competing requirements and changes in assignments.
